SA Representative - Nathaniel Shearer

Nat is in his fifth year of a Bachelor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Laser Physics and Technology, at the University of Adelaide (UofA).
Nat’s involvement with AYAA began after attending the Aerospace Futures conference in 2015. This lead him to co-founding the South Australian branch of the AYAA and joining the state committee. Midway through 2017, Nat took upon the National role of South Australian Representative. He continues in this position for 2018.
Nat has taken advantage of many opportunities during his time with the AYAA. In 2017 he was the Vice Chair for Aerospace Futures, volunteer co-ordinator for the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), and co-founder of the Australian Universities Rocket Competition (AURC).
Nat’s passion for aerospace began after being awarded a scholarship to learn how to fly while in high school. Since then he has actively sought all opportunities to become more involved with the aerospace industry. He recently attended the 2017 Space Generation Congress (SGC), along with the IAC.
Nat is passionate about providing aerospace opportunities to his peers and fostering continual engagement. He is looking forward to beginning his professional career within the industry.
