Makenzie Moor - AYAF Chair

Makenzie is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ).
Makenzie has been actively involved with the AYAA since 2016. Her interests within the industry were kick started after attending the Aerospace Futures conference in Sydney. Since then, she has enjoyed working upon a number of AYAA’s other events including the Rocket Project and the Australian Youth Aerospace Forum. Additionally, in 2017, she attended the Astronaut Stories and the International Astronautical Congress (IAC).

Ali Duggan - AYAF Secretary

Ali is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Queensland (UQ).

Ali’s involvement with the AYAA began in 2017. Since becoming part of the team she has actively participated in all events that the association has to offer. This includes assisting with the organisation of Mars Maker, Astronaut Stories, and QUT’s 2017 Industry Networking Evening. Ali also volunteered at the 2017 International Astronautical Congress (IAC). She used this opportunity to attend technical lectures, network with industry professionals, and explore the aerospace industries latest technologies.

Chia Yu Shen - AYAF Treasurer

Yu Shen is a Malaysian student, currently in his third year of a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ).

Yu Shen has always enjoyed STEM subjects, especially those in the informatics and mathematics discipline. During high school, Yu Shen won medals in mathematics and programming competitions such as; Kangaroo Mathematics Competition (KMC) and Malaysian Computing Challenge (MCC) at a national level. In 2015, he was also involved with the International Olympiad of Informatics (IOI) selection program for his country.

Harriet Angus - AYAF Brisbane Student Liaison Coordinator

Harriet is in half way through a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ).

Harriet joined the Australian Youth Aerospace Association (AYAA) in 2017 to develop her understanding of the Aerospace industry. In 2016, she attended the Aerospace Futures (AF) conference. Inspired by this she took upon the role of Student Liaison in 2017.

Theo Millard - AYAF Student Liaison Coordinator

Theo is in his fourth year of a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ).

Theo’s relationship with AYAA began in 2017. Through the association he has met many wonderful people that are involved with the nation-wide aerospace community. Learning about Brisbane’s AYAF event reminded Theo of attending the Rotary’s National Youth Science Forum when he was younger. This is in many ways what has inspired him to pursue a career within the aerospace sector. Theo is excited to show the next generation of students what the aerospace and aviation industries are all about.

Andrew Uscincki - AYAF Marketing, Graphics and Social Media Manager

Andrew is a passionate 3rd Year Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Queensland (UQ).
Andrew’s involvement with the AYAA began after he attended the Aerospace Futures conference in 2016. Since then he has attended all of the AYAA’s events, and in 2017 he became the photographer for AYAA’s Queensland committee. In addition, he took upon the role of Brisbane Leader at the 2017 Australian Youth Aerospace Forum. Here he assisted with the Forum’s activities and mentored four high school students throughout the week.

Sarah Corbet - AYAF Scholarships Manager

Sarah is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ).

Sarah’s interest in engineering and space began after first participating in the Australian Space Design Competition (ASDC) in 2012. After this, Sarah went to compete in three national, and two international ASDC competitions. In Grade 11 she attended the Australian Youth Aerospace Forum (AYAF) which furthered her interests within the field.

Patrick Riches - AYAF QUT Representative

Patrick is in his second year of a Bachelor of Engineering, with a dual major in Electrical and Aerospace Engineering, at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Patrick joined the Australian Youth Aerospace Association (AYAA) team in 2017 as a Student Leader for the Australian Youth Aerospace Forum (AYAF). He has been steadily involved with the association ever since. Patrick is also heavily involved with the aerospace sector at QUT. Through this he has become actively involved with the designing and flight testing of several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s).

Franklin Mudole - AYAF UQ Representative

Franklin is a Congolese-born, Australian-raised youth. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Mathematics, majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace, at the University of Queensland (UQ).
With his yin-yang mixture of intelligence and humour, Franklin is a character that brings out the best in people. Before completing high school he was the first African male School Captain to receive an outstanding Australian Young-African academic award.
